Constitution Day
Celebrate Constitution Day and America 250 with a community celebration at the James Library at Rockingham Community College on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The event kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with a flag ceremony, followed by Dr. Cox reading the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution.
From 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m., enjoy lawn games, a sidewalk chalk competition, free hot dogs for students, Constitution trivia, and other activities for all ages. At 1:00 p.m., author Jim Morgan will give a special presentation exploring North Carolina’s role in the American Revolution.
The RECHS History Club will also host a voter registration drive during the event. Come celebrate our nation’s history, learn something new, and join the community in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
