Knight Brown Nature Preserve
With almost five miles of walking trails, the Knight Brown Nature Preserve showcases a wooded valley, two gently rippling streams, many different types of ferns, spring wildflowers, and the rare eastern leatherwood shrub. The preserve has an informational kiosk at the trailhead, handmade benches at various places, two bridges, and picnic tables. 6 individual trails make up this trail system to explore.

Anton MarienkoMy wife and I recently had a fantastic experience at Knight Brown Nature Preserve! This is truly a hidden gem for anyone in the Greensboro area looking for a great outdoor escape. The trails are exceptionally well-maintained, offering a wonderful hiking experience. We enjoyed a hike of about 4 miles, exploring a few different trail options that kept the scenery fresh and interesting. The trails feature some gentle hills, which adds a nice bit of challenge without being too strenuous. We were grateful for the benches placed along the way, perfect for a quick rest and to simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings the trails are wide enough in most spots, making it comfortable to hike even when passing others. A quick heads-up for fellow hikers: a few days after it rains, the trails can get very muddy and slippery in certain areas, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear. You'll also want to watch your step for exposed roots and rocks, especially on the narrower parts of the trail. However, these are minor considerations for what is otherwise a beautiful and well-managed natural area. Overall, our visit was a five-star experience. The tranquility and natural beauty of Knight Brown Nature Preserve make it a must-visit. We can't wait to go back and explore it again!

David DannerHilly trails close to the lake, without seeing the lake. Wry nice for a walk in the woods on a sunny day. Three separate trails & you can do one or all three. Boots recommended. On a hot day, you may want swim gear to splash in the water. Picnic tables at entrance & one or two benches. Other than that your rest stop is a log or the. Ground. No toilets.

June KosterVery beautiful and well marked trails! I love the way they zig zagged the trails to help with the steeper inclines. The stream at the bottom is so pretty. There is a picnic table at the parking area as well. The chain saw created bear was a pretty neat surprise. The benches are well placed and offer nice overlooks and a places to contemplate and watch the forest.

Cassandra CraddockAn amazing little hike to venture through! Parking seems to be just a tiny round about but there is a port-o-potty that smelled of cinnamon inside (it was quite clean but wobbly!). Lots of mushrooms around this time.

B ShumateAwesome trails, enjoyed, well marked. Walked all three loops with small hills. Trails in great condition have tree roots and a few down trees and bridges across creeks.
