A super fun spot! We went on a rainy weekday so not many people around. We got to enjoy the beach spot and walk along the rocks and explore. Some of the less traveled spots led us to find some fun animals. Definitely a great state park for friends and family. We did see a good bit of trash so please always practice Leave no trace so everyone can continue to love the park.
Jun 21, 2026 · Google ReviewGreat park. Few different access points. We drove to the waterfall near the Virginia border but also the main entrance. Some nice trails. A lake to walk around. Easy for kids. Nothing major but definitely worth a visit. Had nice bathrooms and a big shelter to bring a lunch or just sit under.

Lots of benches around the ponds to sit down in. A great place for a hike. Multiple trails and dog friendly. Plus it has one of the cleanest restrooms that I've seen in a park.

Even though it was 100° outside it was the trail was really maintained and it was easy to walk and you go up on top of mayo mountain and everything was good. I'm just glad we didn't run into any wild bears or snakes or maybe even a Sasquatch but everything was very uneventful. It was very high
