Mayo River State Park US 220 Business – Mayo River Access
Serves as the designated take-out for all paddlers launching upstream. This location is the last takeout for any trips (on the upriver sections of the North Mayo and South Mayo, and the Mayo River that is formed just above the Anglin Mill Access). Downstream paddling is not recommended. The Avalon dam is just downstream from this access, followed by the Mayodan dam, which makes downstream paddling quite challenging due to difficult portages and potentially low water.
Accessibility Overview: Gravel parking lot. Hand carry, steps at the take-out.
